Reality

If you need a place, in this reality

Just to be yourself, while everything seems awfully

To cry, to scream, to relief your heart

When you feel your world is falling apart

I will be right here, to wait and hope

And I will gently remove the rope

Which lies and tightens around your neck

Pull you away, and of course I’ll check

The light in your eyes is fading away

Turning black, turning cold, clearly with dismay

Your heart feels far away, gone to disappear

I want you to stay, I want you near

I smile at you, and try to remember

What it was like, no need to go further

Loneliness and sadness passing by

Hand in hand, with tears in the eye

Drowning in words, unnecessary pain

No need to describe, no need to complain

Your eyes are open, lightning once more

Watching, sparkling, just like before

Different fishes in the ocean

Different flowers in the garden

Same air is shared by them, same sunlight falls on them

The love is in the air, you just need to breathe

If we follow this rule no one will grieve

When we all have same heart than why are we apart

Black or white doesn’t matter these differences should be shattered

When we have the same eyes than why can’t we share our sight?

Why have we created so many walls around us, so high and so strong?

Some of wealth, some of pride

Some of race, some of tribe

So join each other’s hand and make hammer

Break these boundaries around you and bring scattered world back together.

Just let me sleep

What is worse than empty lined paper,

lying in front of you?

A pencil moving light and slowly,

beautifully but tired, over the sheet?

Drawing circles in your head,

but on the paper nothing is written?

The head upon the pillow,

the eyes are nearly closed. Dreaming far away.

In this dream, nothing has changed. Bright it is,

and oh, so wonderful.

Dreams turns into nightmares. Nightmares into reality.

Reality is once again worse than dreams.

What is then worse than empty lined paper?

Reality I tell you my friend.

The Beauty of Nature

Often when I awake in the morning, I see the pretty and bright blue sky,

Coupled with the warmth of the sun that catches my eye;

Then later as I look out my living room window,

I see the beauty of nature, unfold its pretty image before me,

The trees of all types show their bright green leaves;

While the grass its splendor all around the front of my yard;

And many pretty flowers show signs of a rainbow

along the sides of the building in which I live,

Yet, soon the Fall season will be here,

and many of natures colors will come to disappear,

But the beauty of nature will always be with us in its own way,

be it summer, fall, winter, or spring I do say,

Its been that way through the earths many years of life

and will continue to grow and flourish when we’re no longer here,

Yes, “The Beauty of Nature” brings warmth to my heart with

everyone of its elements from each days start.

Bottled Up Inside

Bottled up inside are the words I never said.

The feelings that I hide,

The lines you never read.

You can see it in my eyes,

Read it on my face.

Trapped are the lies of the past with memories that linger,

Won’t seem to go away.

Why can I be happier?

Today is brand new day.

Yesterdays are over,

Even though the hunting is not.

Nothing lasts forever,

I must cherish what I’ve got.

Don’t take my love for granted for soon it will be gone.

All you’ve ever wanted the love you thought you’d won.

The hurt I’m feeling now won’t disappear over night.

But somehow, someday,

Everything will turn out alright.

No more wishing for the past,

It wasn’t meant to be,

Didn’t seem to last.

So I have to set you free.

My Heart

Why does it seem so lonely even when its not. It’s like it can be stir in a pot.

I never thought that things would be this way. Cause I didn’t know that emotions were here to stay.

Sometimes it’s happy and sometimes sad. I didn’t know that it would be this bad after just going down hill. Some wonder why not take a pill.

The heart is not to be played with. There are people whose heart is as black as midnight but I thank God for the light.

It needs to be loved and cherished but all that is left is for it to perish. For I thirst and seek compassion from the one who came to save because he already gave. My heart is heavy with burden which only he can lift. For only Thou art worthy of giving a priceless gift.

My Sorrow

I sit alone and think about life.

All my wrongs, and all my rights.

Wondering how love could be so blind,

One step forward and I left it behind.

Wrapped up in troubles from my cheating heart,

My lovers arms I would never part.

Then came the day I had to choose,

The husband who loves me, the lover I couldn’t lose.

My marriage in shambles, a baby on the way,

I asked God for the strength to show me the way.

For the ring on my finger has lost it’s shine,

The love that I lost I now must find.

All these years of marriage, where did it go?

Does my husband even know how much I love him so?

Starting over is never easy to do,

But with the grace of God, we will manage to get through.

God has given me the greatest man of all,

Who stood beside me when I took that fall.

He never gave up, never lost faith,

Love is what we made from all of the hate.

Soon the hurt will be begin to fade,

Never to lose sight of the love we made.

My husband is everything, everything to me,

These are my words of sorrow for the whole world to see.

Tell those that you love how you feel,

Those that you hurt, give them time to heal.

Today is the light to bring new beginnings,

Tomorrow in the night to forget about the endings.

Lee. Evaluation

What were you asked to do? (Project brief tasks)

For this project we had to create an interactive web site containing a survival guide based on the theme of the apocalypse of our choice.

What did you make/present?

I created a website based on volcanoes. But the overall look was based on traveling and information.

What did you want to communicate?

I wanted to remind people that volcanoes are very real and will pose a huge threat.

Who was your intended audience?

I think i'm directed at everybody, but mainly young adults because children are to young to understand and older people usually are skeptical of these sort of things.

What materials and processes did you experiment with?

I've tried several times to create animations for the website but it was beginning to become so much of a night mare that i had to let it go, due to time.

What materials and processes did you use in your final designs?

I combined photoshop with flash, often switching between the two to fix issues i had with the templates.

What did you do to ensure you worked with tools and materials safely?

As i do most of my design work at home i tend to get carried away very rapidly and forget to take a break, but in class at least i do have one. Also i made sure to stop and relax when i got fustrated with the coding.

How well did you manage your time?

I don't think i managed my time very , in fact i've had the same problem threw out every project this therm.

What were your strengths in completing this project?

I think the subject i chose is more sensible then other because the treat is very real compared to a zombi invasion, though the zombies would have been more entertaining.

What would you like to have done differently?

I think i should have concentrated more on the design and functionality then the information i was putting in there.

What will you do to ensure you improve for the next project?

i'll definitely do more research and develop my designs better next time. I'll also try to organize my time better in order to get more done. Also i need to stay focused on what i have at hand.

Lee. Flash step by step

To start with, i imported all my images and video into flash.

I then created the layers needed and named then.

I set all my backgrounds on the same layer, but laying them out separate on the time line, approximately by 10 frames each... Some needed more depending on the content of the page.

I created 3 separate layers for each button on the main page, but my buttons were text and it was difficult to click on them. ?So i converted the text to a button. I? double clicked on the button which took me to the buttons timeline. I created a keyframe in each box available. in hit i drew a box over the text to create the button. But when i tested the buttons it was still hard to click on them and the curser was mainly offering to select the text, so i had to change the text to an image. I did this by braking apart the text twice, then i copied the text and paste it on the available boxes on the button timeline.

I then put in the actions necessary so that when the buttons were clicked, they took you to a certain point on the timeline.

I did the same for all the buttons on the main page and only added the coding for the other buttons.
I also created a sort animation on the first page. I did this by writing some text on it's own layer and created a tween. I then place the border of the background back onto the stage to hid the text that comes in, this gives the illusion of a screen.

To finish i brought in the text and placed it on it's own layer. In some cases i had to bring in the border, out side of the boxes, to fix certain issues. I had to edit the text to make sure it stayed within the boxes.

Mark. Black hole evaluation

What were you asked to do? (Project brief tasks)

We had to create several images following the theme of the beginning of the end of.

What did you make/present?

I created my images and photoshop and because i chose to do mine in lightwave i had to do 4 images. We then had to make a story and apply sound to the images.

What did you want to communicate?

MY theme was the beginning of the end of civilization and had recently been watching astrology programs which inspired me to have the world swallowed by a black hole.

Who was your intended audience?

I don't think i have an intended audience but one i could think of is my age group, 16 to 30.

What materials and processes did you experiment with?

i combined both scanned material, final cut pro, photoshop and lightwave.

What materials and processes did you reject?

i didn't want to do everything in a single program. I also wanted my final to have a realistic aspect but for it to be clear that it wasn't real.

I combine different programs and used plenty of sounds in my final.

What did you do to ensure you worked with tools and materials safely?

I took a break when i needed and scanned my materials out of the way.

How well did you manage your time?

I did alot of research at the beginning but i forgot to annotate so i did that during the holidays though i find i haven't do enough design work.

What were your strengths in completing this project?

I had plenty of ideas which forced me to choose only one, so i chose the one that entertained me the most.

Mark. Black hole invasion step by step

To start with i created a plane and divided 50 by 50 slices using the numerical tool.

The more slices there are the longer it takes to render but the smother the landscape.

I found an other technique for creating landscapes on youtube and decided to give it a try.

This involves using the morths and the airbrush tool.

I changed the intensity and the shape alot to create various shapes and at different hight. I manually created spikes for were i wanted the black hole to sit by selecting points and using the move tool to drag them around, mostly in the direction of the black hole.

To create the building a made a rectangular box and placed where i wanted it. I then used the boolean tool and boxes on an other layer to cut holes into the building to create the windows. I also used the same technique but with a a block that was slightly smaller than the building to hollow it out.

I then created the road as a point of reference for the city.

I created this by making a very long rectangle. I then used the bevel tool and the emboss tool to hollow it out and and the rim.

I have also been setting my objects a surface area along the way, this helps when texturing. If i set all the building with the same surface name, i can texture them all at once and this saves time.

I split the road once and selected on half. I rotated that half towards the black hole. Then split the half and rotated it again but more dramatically to try and show distortion.

I then copied my original building, and placed it somewhere else on a new layer.

Using the same technique i duplicated several buildings and merged the layers together to be able to duplicated more at one time. But because the environment is 3D, if i left the buildings as they were, mist would either be berried or floating, so i spent a while after readjusting the height of the building.

To create the black hole i created a capsule and hollowed it out by selecting the curved part and dragging inside it self with the move tool. I also deleted a good half of the capsule. Then i created a point by puling less and less polygons away from the main body. I deselected polygons the further i went away. I then selected the edge of the rim and increased its size to create what you see in the screen shot.

I textured everything in layout and also rendered and got my images out of it. Some of the textures had to be adjusted colour wise which i also did in layout.

I couldn't figure out originally how to use scanned material in my lightwave but i soon found an idea. I loaded my images into photoshop.

For the first image i used the news paper i scanned in. I lowered the opacity of the page and because the scan was a bad quality to begin with, once i had shrunk the image i did need to blur it. I simply blurred the edge i tiny bit.

I spent a while fiddling with the text though. The text is also from the same newspaper page.

I tried blurring the text, different layouts even a different colour but i eventually settled on having brighter letters and blurring the a bit.

For the second image i imported a tissue scan i had made. I set the tissue layer to overlay which left its texture on the land but not in the sky.

I imported a piece of texture from my egg box and motion blurred it the set it's layer to screen and lowered it opacity.

I then imported an other piece of texture.

i then lower the images brightness and increased the contrast 3 times to get the effect i wanted. I then set it's layer to screen, which would hid it's darker parts and leave the light ones.

I used the same techniques on all the other images.

The difference here is on the egg box texture.

On the end close to the black hole i selected an area, applied feather to the selection then applied a radial blur to get the effect you see here.

I also applied the same effect on the stars around the black hole to show it's rotation.

Because te rendering messed up on some of the images, i fixed this on this image with the clone tool.

to finish, i imported everything into final cut pro and applied sound.
